Academy Against the Development of Anti-Gender Movements in Turkey

In this article, the effects of anti-gender movements that continue to rise around the world on Turkish academia are touched upon. By looking at the consequences of socio-economic transformations such as populism, anti-intellectualism and illiberalism; firstly, the answer to the question of what we are in was sought, and then the effects of the process we are in on the academy in the context of gender studies were mentioned through examples. Attention was drawn to the attrition and loss of value reflected throughout the academy in parallel with the decline in the value given to knowledge and education in Turkey, and it was claimed by discussing the reasons and examples that the field that this effect is trying to eliminate most rapidly is gender research.
