In this study, we discussed participatory methods that can be applied to discover the values attributed to a heritage site by society and various communities. This study, which was carried out between 2016 and 2019, examines the methods applied in the project titled "Plural Heritages of the Istanbul Land Walls" supported by the TÜBİTAK Katip Çelebi -Newton Program with grant no. 116K830. It aims to contribute to the literature and experiences on the determination of heritage values by participatory methods. The walking ethnography method formed the basis of all other methods developed, i.e. cultural probes, co-production and photo-voice workshops. These methods were used to explore the values that communities ascribe to a cultural heritage site.
